Although I would entertain the idea of making just a headboard, I much prefer to make full bedstead setups with headboard, footboard, and heavy skirt rail construction.  My beds are lock pin mortise & tenon constructions with captured nut full mortise and tenon load bearing skirt rail fastenings.  You will find no typical flimsy store bought bed hardware in any Lohr bed.  All my beds are guaranteed to be rock solid and completely squeak free constructions that can withstand any condition you want to subject them to.   Mattress & box springs are not included.  Generally each bed is a walnut post, rail, and muntin construction that frames gorgeously figured domestic hardwood in the field areas of it's panels.
