We make boxes as a way to stretch those creative muscles on something small. Sometimes they have a function, other times they don’t. We use these smaller pieces to try new techniques, explore new methods, invite color or new material into the mix. We do it for fun, but also to get our feet wet before we commit to those same elements in a big furniture piece. The results are one-of-a-kind boxes that vary every time. We are always excited to make boxes (with or without function) on commission too!

WALNUT DIMPLE BOX

This lidded box has so much character. It’s all about the details in this one: maple stringing inlay, hand-carved dimples, and a handmade pull to top it off. Inside, there is a sliding tray and a leather liner in the bottom.

SLIDING LID KIDNEY BOX

This little guy was an exercise in using brass and creating an organic shaped pull. It’s a great size for pens and pencils, keys, or small desktop trinkets. It’s made of cherry and ash.

ASH BLUE COMPARTMENT BOX

This little guy has a spalted maple panel and bright blue flocking inside because… why not? Flocking was a favorite pasttime of Larissa during the COVID shutdown.

OCTOPUS BOX

This box sports a pull made of hot-pipe bent ash and lots of hand carving to bring some organic lines and shadows to a very geometric box.

WALNUT PARQUETRY BOX

A simple design allows the parquetry pattern to shine (literally and figuratively) in this box. It has a nice maple lining that brings some contrast to the inside.

WALNUT RING BOX

This little walnut box rocks a figured maple panel that looks almost like stone. The box is lined with leather to give your favorite ring(s) a soft landing.

COLORFUL SHAPES BOX

This box was an exploration in brightly colored milk paints. The lid is reversible so you can show off the wild colors and shapes or hide them inside for a fun surprise.
