The Ambrosia Beetle loves to live in maple trees. Every once in a while we find a very unique log in which this little bug creates a masterpiece. They leave little streaks that look like ghosts in flight, so we call it Ghost Maple. This particular slab is full of unique color, figure and spalting and makes for a dramatic centerpiece. The walnut base is half lapped to create an angular counterpoint to the untamed live edge.
